Lory Rosenberg
Lory Rosenberg is an attorney and certified coach, who worked at the Board of Immigration Appeals as an Appellate Immigration Judge for 7 years, where she reviewed over 20,000 appeals and often dissented due to the tendency of the BIA to favor enforcement over compassion and human rights.
She is the co-author of Immigration Law and Crimes, and taught Refugee and Asylum Law at American University, Washington College of Law. Over the past 35 years, Lory has worked as a non-profit legal/litigation director, judge, mentor, featured columnist, legal services lawyer, founder of a refugee center legal program, and as a private immigration practitioner and immigration law consultant.
Lory has served as a leader on AILA’s Board of Governors, and the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyer Guild. She speaks, trains and mentors on immigration law, and writes and collaborates on principal and amicus briefs to the BIA, the federal circuit courts of appeal, and the Supreme Court.
Lory is passionate about securing fairness and justice for immigrants and refugees, and she believes that asylum seekers should be represented by competent and expert legal counsel. She is enthusiastic about making Access 61 work for everyone.
Core Values
Flexibility
Clients can hire an attorney to do the exact work they need done when they need it done. In the past, clients would have to sign a full case retainer with attorneys even though they only wanted initial pleadings. With access 61, clients can pick what parts of the work they want the attorney to do and what part they want to do themselves. They always have access to their file and the ability to do what they want when they want with their case.
Low Cost
All documents filed by Access 61 are 100% created by attorneys who signature and are created by a highly experienced legal team using the best available technology and methods. Asylum cases often require retainers that cost between $12,000 and $20,000. Many of the access 61 services are available for under $2000. Some services are available for as little as $500.
Focus on Trial Success
The lawyers who created this program go to trial on asylum cases on a regular basis. Legal pleadings are prepared with an eye towards trial. Many of our competitors are not allowed to go to court (notarios) are have never seen a trial (do it yourself options.) Small details in pleadings can lead to the difference between success and failure in immigration court.
Strong Team
We only hire experienced attorneys who have already worked extensively on asylum cases. We spend a lot of time training our attorneys when they are hired and we never stop training them. We constantly communicate with each other on how we can better improve our process and training. We make those changes and we keep getting stronger. The attorneys who run access 61 are recognized leaders in the immigration industry.
AI Makes Us Better
Access 61 uses AI throughout the entire process from initial client conversations to intake to strategy and the creation of legal work.
